My Story

Whether casting for green screen adventures, voiceover for animation or award winning and nominated feature and television, the excitement found in collaboration, raising underrepresented voices, and creating the perfect ensemble of artists continues to challenge in the most delightful way.

Based in Los Angeles, CAROLINE LIEM has brought her considerable training and talent to numerous studios and networks including Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Disney, Sony, Warner Bros, Netflix, Nick Jr, ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW and Fox. Before there was American Horror Story, there was Popular, the first show Caroline cast with producer Ryan Murphy. Following this experience, Caroline worked with a myriad of prominent producers and directors, including Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men franchise), David S. Goyer (Blade trilogy), John Ridley (12 Years A Slave) and Jon Turteltaub (Disney’s The Kid). Collaborating with Walt Disney’s casting department, Caroline worked on Gone in Sixty Seconds, Pearl Harbor, and Gangs of New York. Earlier in her career, Caroline cast the multiple award-winning late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! Later, she added video games including Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry to her varied and eclectic work. Additional credits include X-Men 2, Blade Trinity and Rust Creek. Having a diverse and rich background as a musician, singer, actor and casting director has provided a firm foundation and distinct network of professionals in both film and television.

Caroline served as Vice President of Casting Society, as well as Vice President of Advocacy, leaning in to shine a light and elevate global voices on both sides of the camera. She is currently producing a film - a love letter to RomComs. Her immigration film, Bienvenidos a Los Angeles, is the Diversity In Cannes Short Film Showcase winner and a short-listed nom for the 96th Academy Awards.

She is the co-creator of Pace University Sands College of Performing Arts LA Intensive, bridging academia with the film & television industry. She has shared her expertise in creative entrepreneurship navigating the industry and the audition process with many performing arts programs including The Juilliard School, NYU Tisch, The New School, Syracuse, and as faculty with University of Texas at Austin, Columbia College Chicago, and Pace University Sands College of Performing Arts' BFA and BA programs including the Acting, Dance, Film and television, IPE and Musical Theatre. Caroline holds an MFA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BA from UCLA, and is currently Assistant Professor of Screen Acting at Oklahoma City University.

When she’s not meeting and working with terrific talented artists, you’ll find Caroline tending to her bamboo garden, eating vegan Indonesian food, and meditating with her favorite Tortie cat, Flake.
